Dr Brian McNeil from the University of Strathclyde / Cockcroft Institute has been awarded the FEL Prize 2022 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Free Electron Laser science and technology.
The prize was announced on 25 August, during the 40th FEL conference hosted by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste (Italy) and it comes just weeks after he was awarded the IoP Particle Accelerators and Beams Group Prize 2022.
This is another outstanding achievement for Brian, who became a member of the Cockcroft Institute in 2016. Brian is one of a very small number of internationally renowned FEL experts in the UK and is widely recognised as the UK’s leading theorist in the field.
