Ernest Rutherford Fellowships – Call now open

© STFC

STFC has launched a call for the next round of Ernest Rutherford Fellowships. Its aim is to support future scientific leaders to establish a strong, independent research programme. The fellowships will last for five years and are intended for early career researchers who do not have an academic position yet.

The Cockcroft Institute has a quota of four Ernest Rutherford Fellowship applications.

If you are interested in applying, or know somebody who is, please contact Prof Peter Ratoff as soon as possible. All interested candidates must send a CV and a one page outline of their research plan no later than 31st July.

If more than four expressions of interest (with CV and research outline) are received, then the CIMC will operate a selection process based on the submitted documentation. The successful candidates will be notified by 12th August in order to give them sufficient time to prepare and submit the full application to STFC by the deadline of 19th September.

STFC currently supports a number of Ernest Rutherford Fellows undertaking a range of research within STFC core science areas. An analysis of Fellows who have completed their Fellowship since 2009 revealed that all of them were employed and 92% held permanent jobs.
