Celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Marie Skłodowska-Curie

The QUASAR Group, based at the Cockcroft Institute, and its international partners are going to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Marie Skłodowska–Curie, an outstanding researcher and woman inspiring generations of scientists.

Since 1996, the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) have provided grants to train excellent researchers at all stages of their careers – be they doctoral candidates or highly experienced researchers – while encouraging transnational, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. The programme is named after the double Nobel Prize winner Marie Skłodowska-Curie to honour and spread the values she stood for. To date, more than 100 000 researchers have participated in the programme.

The QUASAR Group, has been particularly successful in establishing and coordinating European training initiatives in accelerator science and technology.

Join us in celebrating the life and research of Marie Curie and the achievements of Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions with a special ‘Marie Curie Day 2017’ on 7th November. Public lectures, hands-on activities and interactive poster sessions will be organized in three key locations across Europe: University of Liverpool, CERN and LMU Munich. Live streamed talks will be made available to participants from around the world.
