CI at INTERACT Symposium

Dr Chris Edmonds at INTERACT 2017.

QUASAR Group members Dr Chris Edmonds and Dr Ricardo Torres, of the Cockcroft Institute and University of Liverpool, went to Birmingham on 14th September to participate in the INTERACT Symposium. INTERACT is a physics outreach symposium organised by STFC, the Institute of Physics (IOP) and the South East Physics Network Outreach (SEPnet).

Chris and Ricardo presented a session entitled ‘Particle accelerators for teenagers’ in which they shared their experience in running a series of workshops for children in Daresbury Laboratory and introduced the acceleratAR app as a novel way to engage students with accelerator science using augmented reality.

The conference offered a great opportunity to share experiences, gain skills, learn new ways to engage with audiences and see what others involved in public engagement are doing.
