Following the success of last year’s inaugural Particle Accelerators and Beams Annual Conference in Liverpool, the organising committee has announced PAB 2023. The conference will take place on 29th and 30th June 2023 at the University of Strathclyde. This two-day conference is the UK’s premier national event in the field of particle accelerators.
This year the conference will have a truly international element with keynote talks from both the Director General of FermiLab, Lia Merminga and the Director of the Chinese Institute for High Energy Physics, Yifang Wang.
PAB 2023 aims to bring together the entire community. The in-person event will comprise two days of vibrant physics discussion, knowledge sharing, and networking, as well as a packed programme of keynote, plenary, parallel and poster sessions. The conference will include a civic reception and a conference dinner at the magnificent Glasgow City Chambers. The organisers encourage the participation of scientists in all stages of their careers, from PhD students, through postdoc to senior professors.
The IoP Particle Accelerator and Beams Group Prize for Outstanding Professional Contributions in the field will be awarded during the conference. This annual prize recognises someone who has contributed to accelerator science and technology in the UK or Ireland and raised its public profile.
Nominations to the prize are currently open. They should comprise a summary case of up to two pages, together with major citation evidence (where relevant) and may include up to two letters of support for the candidate.
