The workshop aims to bring together the principle researchers currently working on the development, characterisation and practical applications of various surface coatings and treatment for UHV/XHV applications such as non-evaporable getter (NEG) coatings, low secondary electron yield (SEY) coatings, low outgassing coating and treatments, etc. The event will provide an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience of experts from various institutions and industries.

The Workshop is organised by Accelerator Science and Technology Centre ( STFC Daresbury Laboratory, UK) with support from the Institute of Physics (IoP) and commercial sponsors, and endorsed by the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA).



The Workshop will be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel (http://www.crowneplaza.com/hotels/gb/en/chester/chets/hoteldetail) located within the city walls of the historic city Chester in Cheshire, United Kingdom.



The workshop will start on Monday 28th September 2015 at 8:00, and will finish on Thursday the 1st October at 12:30. There will be a reception on Sunday evening. On Tuesday after Lunch there will be a visit to ASTeC/STFC Daresbury Laboratory. On Wednesday a half-day social trip followed by a Workshop Dinner, to further foster discussions among participants.



The Workshop sessions will include invited talks (~50 minutes each) and contributed talks (~25 minute) followed by open discussion. Participants are encouraged to come prepared to make 1-2 slide presentations during the discussion sessions. There will be no poster session.



There will be no formal proceedings but participants are asked to provide the organiser with a copy of their overheads. These will be collated into a record of the Workshop, which will be distributed to participants and placed on the web.
