Particle Accelerator Engineering Network Annual Meeting 2023

The Institution of Engineering and Technology has announced that this year the Particle Accelerator Engineering Network Annual Meeting will take place at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxford on the 6th October.

The particle accelerator engineering network is a unique assemblage of scientists, engineers, academics and technicians involved in particle accelerators.  The annual meeting is a chance to catch-up in the latest engineering developments in the field as well as network with like-minded engineers.  Topical applications of particle accelerators are also discussed, such as the ISIS Target Upgrade, RF trips in SRF cavities, Diffusion bonding of RF cavities and laser-plasma accelerators.

The agenda will include a panel discussion with industry leaders from STFC, Universities and Industry (Peter McIntosh, Graeme Burt, Steve Jago, John Allen, and Phil Atkinson) discussing key topics affecting particle accelerator engineering.

The conference will also include an early career engineer poster prize. Applicants should be within four years of their undergraduate degree OR be registered in an industry or national lab graduate or apprenticeship programme.

The competition is open to graduate engineers, engineering technicians, and engineering students either in industry, national laboratories, or universities and is open to all age ranges. The prize is a £100 gift voucher plus an IET certificate.
