Industry

In partnership with "high-tech" industry in the UK and elsewhere, the Institute aims to work to develop new technologies for advanced particle accelerators, thereby ensuring that British companies are able to supply major components for accelerators and accelerating systems of all kinds throughout the world. To this end, the Institute already works closely with the Accelerator Industry Club of the Faraday Partnership in High Power Radio-Frequency Engineering (a joint initiative in the UK of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Research Councils, and industry), and it is developing new links with high-technology industry both regionally and nationally.

The Cockcroft Institute is thus positioned as a unique platform in which radical new ideas and developments, driven by the demands of basic science, are pursued to fruition with major industrial development and commercialisation always in mind.
